Obituary Condolences

July 10, 1922 - January 26, 2013 ANNAPOLIS, MD Beth Welch Heimann, 90, a four-year resident of Annapolis, MD, and previously a longtime resident of Oklahoma City, OK, died Jan. 26 after a brief illness. Beth was born July 10, 1922, to Oscar Welch and Vera Cunningham Welch in Colorado Springs, CO. She moved frequently growing up, living in Denison, TX; Joplin, MO; St. Louis, MO; McAlester, OK; and Muskogee, OK. She graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1939 and went on to receive a BA from the University of Arkansas and a Library Science degree from Louisiana State University. She worked for many years as a children's librarian, receiving the Oklahoma Library Association Distinguished Service Award in 1967. One of her early jobs was driving a bookmobile through rural communities in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Emil Heimann, whom she married in 1960 and who died in 2009. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City for over 50 years, serving as an Elder, Sunday school teacher and member of the Christian Education Committee. She is survived by two sons: Martin Heimann, of Allentown, PA; and David Heimann, of Annapolis, MD; daughters-in-law, Marsha Heimann and Jeannie Heimann; as well as five grandchildren: Jake, Noah, and Matthew Heimann, of Annapolis; Kyle McDaniel, of Oakland, CA; and Meghan McDaniel Perrin, of New Providence, NJ; and two great-grandchildren, Jack and Cole Perrin.
