Obituary Condolences

Oct 1, 1923 - Aug 4, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Cletius Clifton Hill, 90, died August 4, 2014. He was born October 1, 1923, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to Monroe and Myrtle Hill. Cletius was raised and worked on his family farm in Stratford, Oklahoma. He was a proud veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps, and received a Purple Heart for his service in Burma. Upon rehabilitation and Honorable Discharge, he was employed by the civilian workforce at Tinker Air Force Base until retirement in 1975. While working there, he met and married Betty Joy Minyard in May of 1948. Cletius & Joy were longtime members of the Knob Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Viness Hill; he is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joy Hill; sister, Gladys Mercer, of Moore, OK; son, Steve Hill & wife Julie, of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Cindy Kimbrough & husband Charles, of OKC; grandchildren, Adam Smith, Zachary Hill, Lucas Kimbrough & wife Jessica, and Katie Dale; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for their care and devotion as well as to the many friends and family who have supported us with prayer and comfort during this time. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S. Western Ave., with burial following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
