May 1, 1944 - July 24, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY William Clarke Abbott, 70, died peacefully Thursday morning, July 24, 2014, in an Oklahoma City facility. He was born on May 1, 1944, in San Francisco, CA to Charles & Florence (Patterson) Abbott. Bill was a Vietnam veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy and Seabees. He married Joyce Ann Sutherland in OKC on November 9, 1968. After serving his country, Bill spent 30 years working as an electrician at Tinker Air Force Base before retiring. During his retirement, Bill spent his time teaching gun classes and hunter safety. He also worked with the Small Business Administration and FEMA and served as a reserve deputy with the Oklahoma and Cleveland County offices. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the . Funeral services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
