July 26, 1928 - March 21, 2014 MOORE Wayne Hopkins, Moore, OK, went to his eternal home to worship at the feet of Jesus on March 21, 2014. Wayne was born July 26, 1928, to William Jesse and Josephine Hopkins. Wayne was raised in Poteau, OK, where he met and married Shirley Rogers, of Poteau. Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. Wayne & Shirley lived in California during their early marriage, then moved to Durant, OK, where Wayne earned his bachelor's degree at Southeastern State University. Wayne & Shirley eventually moved to Oklahoma City, where they raised their three children. Wayne retired as an instructor from the FAA. He accepted United Nations assignments with ICAO that took the couple traveling throughout the world. They lived in Amman, Jordan, in Indonesia, and in Ethiopia, and traveled to many other destinations. Preceding Wayne in death are his parents; sisters, Opal and Velma; and brother, W.J. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley; children, Michael Hopkins and Retha, Sheila Dillard and David, Cheryl Pazdernik and Michael; his grandchildren, Mandolynne Hopkins, Kevin Hopkins and Meghan, Nicholas Pazdernik, Bryan Dillard and Heather, and John Dillard; his great-grandchildren, Regan Clement, Dylan, McKenzie and Presley Dillard; Justin and Conner Hopkins; also by his sister, Viola; nieces, Cathy Caughron, Carol Williamson, and Francine Hopkins; nephew, David Hopkins; and many more relatives and friends. Wayne was a member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Anthony Hospital for the loving care they provided. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at Wilmont Place Baptist Church, 6440 S. Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, with graveside service following at Heritage Burial Park at South Lakes, SW 119th & I-44, Oklahoma City. Viewing will be 4-8 p.m. Friday evening at Vondel Smith South Lakes with the family greeting friends 5-7 p.m. Friends may leave condolences for the family at:
