Aug 11, 1939 - Oct 21, 2013 YUKON Cecil R. Brown went to be with the Lord on Oct. 21, 2013. He was born Aug. 11, 1939, in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He lived in Mustang, Oklahoma, for many years. In 2001, he moved to Yukon, Oklahoma, where he met his partner, Gloria Yarbrough, who loved him very much. He joined the Army in 1956, when he was just 17, having his mother sign for him. He served three years, two of which he was stationed in Germany. He worked at Lucent for 39 years before retiring in 2001. He was a good Christian man, who enjoyed going to church at CCY with his family every week. He loved and treated his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as if they were his own, even stepping in to help raise Gloria Yarbrough's granddaughter, Shasta Yarbrough, when she came to live with them at age 16. In his younger days, Cecil enjoyed hunting, boating, and water skiing. As he got older, he found joy in music, walking the dog every morning, and attending the Lucent retirees breakfast. He never passed up an opportunity to eat. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Cecil is survived by his partner, Gloria Yarbrough; and her two sons, two daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sons, Gaylon Brown, Paul Heldenbrand & his wife Tammy, and Tony Heldenbrand & his wife Polly; daughter, T.J. Marshel; brother, Alvin Brown; sisters, Wanda Wilson, Melva Tigrett, and Geraldine Denny; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
