Jan. 04, 1949 - March 25, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY, OK Charles Edward Dickson, age 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 25th, 2014. He was born on Jan. 4th, 1949, feet first, at home, in Spencer, OK to Lester and Ruth Dickson. In 1967, he left Central High School just two months short of graduating to enlist in the Army. After returning home he went to trade school and got his licenses for refrigeration. Throughout his career he attended classes to stay updated on technology in his field of work. Charles started working at the age of 8 delivering newspapers and worked hard all his life to provide for his family until he retired just 3 short months ago at the end of Dec. 2013. He enjoyed painting, get-togethers, yard sales, fishing and eating chicken. He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Ruth Dickson, brothers Lester Ray, Lloyd and Paul, sister Cora Jane and son-in-law Kevin. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathy, who never left his side and lovingly cared for him during his illness and final days. His children Shannon, Danny, Wendy, Cora, Justin and their spouses. His grandchildren Dakota, Alicia, Garion, Kaley, Ashley, Justin, Brittney, Joseph, Kevin Jr., Kathy Jo, Angelena, and Jacey. Brothers Leroy, Robert, Richard, and Tony. Sisters Shirley and Hazel all of OKC. Charles was a very loving Husband, Dad, Papa, and friend. He will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be 1pm on Friday, April 4, at the VFW on S.W. 46th & Penn.
