COONIE DRAKE(1924 - 2017)

May 19, 1924 - November 25, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Coonie W. Drake, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was born May 19, 1924 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Albert and Ollie (Shults) Turner. She passed away at her home in Oklahoma City, on November 25, 2017 at the age of 93 years 6 months and 6 days. She spent her early life in the Stratford area, then moved to California for a time and spent most of her adult life in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was married to Norman E. Drake. Worked at Tinker Field where she retired. She was a member of the Windwood Free Will Baptist Church. Preceded by her parents, husband Norman, one brother O.V. Turner, and two sisters Eloise Lambert and Jimmie Monzo. Survived by two sons Richard A. Drake & wife Sue of Tuttle, OK, Tom Drake & wife Jo of Moore, OK; two daughters Norma Milvo & husband Larry, Mary Lisa Ertel & husband Ted, all of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother Pete Turner & wife Nola of Canton, Michigan; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers: Mike Drake, Stephen Drake, David Drake, Andrew Drake, Joseph Drake, Chris Manley, and Zach Milvo. Our hearts are broken today. We unexpectedly lost our sweet mother, grandmother, and our hero. She was loved by all who knew her. Services 10:00 AM Thursday November 30, 2017 at Windwood Free Will Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Officiating Rev. Jason Moran. Burial will be in McGee Cemetery, Stratford, Oklahoma.
