Buckhalter Dec 9, 1940 - Nov 15, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Grady Milton Buckhalter, having entered this world on December 9, 1940, departed to be with his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2013. He was the third son born to Grady and "Tommie" Buckhalter. His parents and brothers, Alan and Rick, preceded him in death. Grady is survived by his wife, Nita, whom he married in 1965; and his pride and joy — his sons, Grady and Allen; daughter-in-law, Jenny; and grandsons, Rylan and Gavin. Following graduation from Capitol Hill High School, Grady completed a Bachelor's of Science of Chemistry from Central State University, now the University of Central Oklahoma. He joined the United States Navy, where he went through aviation training and achieved the rank of lieutenant before his honorable discharge. After serving his country, Grady worked through different jobs, including Dayton Tire, contracting with Tinker AFB and owning his own businesses. His passion for cars was demonstrated through his lifetime membership in the National Street Rod Association and the many vehicles he built for family, friends and customers. He was a Mason and Shriner and supported the Shriners Hospital work for children. He loved the Lord and discussing the Bible and his faith with others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a good friend to many. He will be missed greatly. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Graceway Baptist Church (1100 S.W. 104th) on Wednesday, November 20, 2:30 p.m. A time of fellowship with the family will follow.
