JOE SMITH

June 23, 1925 - Jan 5, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Joe V. Smith passed away at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 5, 2013. He had suffered with Alzheimer's for several years. He was born in Supply, Oklahoma, on June 23, 1925, to J.P. and Georgia Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Jane, at a very young age; brothers: Billy Ray, Teddy Wayne, and Gary Dean; and one son, David. He is survived by wife of 66 years, Mary; one daughter, Lynda Mosley; one son, Russell Smith; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He served in the U.S. Naval Submarine Service during WWII and belonged to the WWII Submarine Veterans and the V.F.W. After leaving the Navy, he became a Union Electrician for the next 60 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, boating, helping his kids, and enjoyed being with his family. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel, Del City, Oklahoma.
