April 22, 1928 - March 22, 2013 MIDWEST CITY John Peter Walsh, better known as Peter, was born in County Galway, Ireland, on April 22, 1928, and died in Midwest City, Oklahoma, on March 22, 2013. During the Korean conflict, he served in the Royal Artillery in England for two years and later retired after working 36 years in the Manchester, England, coal mines. He came to the United States in 1988 at the age of 60, at which time he learned to drive and play golf. He met and married Dolores Breslin in 1991. Peter is survived by his wife, Dolores, of the home; three daughters and two sons in England, two sons and daughters-in-law and one daughter in Oklahoma, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, both in England and the United States. Peter was an avid gardener and loved the springtime so that he could plant his flowers and vegetables. He loved giving roses to all visitors when they were blooming, and we who loved him know that he is now planting his flowers in God's blooming gardens. Peter was much loved by all who knew him, both family and friends, and he will be greatly missed. A Wake service for Peter will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, in the Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
