Shepherd June 23, 1927 - Nov 17, 2012 PIEDMONT Maurice Elvin Shepherd, 85, was born June 23, 1927, in Seminole, OK to James Stanley and Sylvia (Hoover) Shepherd. He passed away Nov. 17, 2012, in Oklahoma City. Maurice was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran, earning both the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal. He was dedicated to his family as a father and grandfather. He was a member of Harvest Hills Baptist Church and the Piedmont Historical Society. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed time deer hunting in Colorado, as well as quail and pheasant hunting, fishing and camping. He loved working in his garden. Maurice is survived by his son, Clifton Shepherd and wife Ronda, of Okarche; daughter, Sandra Barton and husband Randy, of Edmond; brother, Walter Ray Shepherd and wife Nina, of Seminole; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Carol Shepherd; wife, Beuna Pearl Shepherd; and four brothers, Fred, Frank, Lloyd and Eldon. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, in the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Kansas Cemetery in Piedmont. Online condolences may be signed at
