January 1, 1972 - April 26, 2013 MOORE Monty Cole Rumsey passed away April 26, 2013 in Oklahoma City at the age of 41. Monty was born January 1, 1972 in Norman, OK to Delmon Ray and Patsy Charlene Downum Rumsey. Monty was a highly awarded football and baseball player at Moore High School when he graduated in 1990. After high school, he went on to play football and baseball at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He completed his Master's in Education at UCO in 2002. Monty taught history and coached at Moore High School before he became the current Director of Transportation for the Moore Public Schools. Monty played a variety of sports. He coached little league baseball and was an avid OU fan. He enjoyed traveling and loved playing with his children. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his wife, Amy, son Austin and daughter Allie, all of the home, sister, Jeanne Graves and husband, Melvin; brothers, Delmon Rumsey and wife, Susan, Mike Rumsey and wife, Kay and Lance Rumsey and wife, Terra. He also has many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family would like to thank all his friends and the entire Moore Community who have been so supportive during his illness. You are an amazing group of people. We would also like to thank the ICU Staff at Baptist, especially nurse Kevin, who was a continuous support for Monty and the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Monty Rumsey Family Trust at First Fidelity Bank. The family will be available to greet friends at the funeral home Friday, May 3, from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Performing Arts Center at Moore High School with burial in the Rumsey Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Stidham, OK.
