Dec 10, 1944 - March 8, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Nancy L. Adkins, of Oklahoma City, peacefully passed away on March 8th. She was born on December 10, 1944, to Orville and Esther Gausman. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University. In 1967-1976, she worked in the U.S. Probation Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. In 1976, she was appointed legal secretary to Chief U.S. District Judge, Frederick A. Daugherty. In 1996, she was appointed Deputy Court Clerk for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court until her retirement in 2008. She loved to travel, eat out at restaurants and spend time with close family and friends. Nancy will be remembered for her gentle spirit and compassionate nature. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Ben; daughter, Kristin, of Dallas; son, Brian, of Oklahoma City; brother, Larry Gausman and wife Barbara, of Mustang; sister, Sue Lute and husband Ronnie, of Edmond; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Esther Gausman; and brother, Wayne Gausman. Visitation will be Monday, March 11 at Mercer-Adams in Bethany from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family present 6-8 p.m. Service will be held Tuesday, March 12 at 2 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, with interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
