Dec 21, 1951 - Nov 14, 2012 NORMAN Parichehr was born in Tehran, Iran, to Tayebeh Khosravi - Tabrizi and Nasrollah Shahabi. She came to the United States in 1970 and graduated from OU. Parichehr worked at the Southwest Center for Human Relations Studies at OU. Her proudest accomplishment was the development of National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education, this nation's premier conference on diversity, ethnicity, and race relations. She left a legacy to the field of diversity and race relations. She is survived by her son, Nima Nabavi, and his wife, Elizabeth; her daughter, Hanieh Pace, and her husband, William; her sister, Parivash Ashabi; her mother, Tayebeh Khosravi - Tabrizi; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. A memorial celebration will be held at the Waterford Marriott on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Parichehr Shahabi-Nabavi scholarship foundation at the University of Oklahoma.
