Feb 1, 1956 - Jan 18, 2013 YUKON Paul Lawrence, age 56, of Yukon, passed away suddenly on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at his home in Yukon. He was born Feb. 1, 1956, in Idabel, OK and had been living in Yukon for the last 30 years, moving there from Henryetta, OK. He had received his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and his master's from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. For the last 14 years, Paul had been teaching elementary school for the OKC public school district, most recently at Southern Hills Elementary School. He had also worked for OG&E and in the oil patch for Halliburton. He enjoyed playing the guitar; target shooting and reloading his ammo; being with his dogs, Kipper and Scout; gardening; taking rides on his Harley with his surrogate granddaughter, Morgan Parker; and drinking Coke. Paul was preceded in death by his son, Justin, in 2001; his parents, Roy and Helen; and his mother-in-law, Frances Payne. Survivors include his wife, Teresa, of the home; brother, David and his wife Cylvia, of Van Alstyne, TX; father-in-law, Don Payne, of Henryetta; sister-in-law, Lisa Wolfe and husband Mike, of Tulsa; brothers-in-law, Sturlin and Stacy Pearce, both of Henryetta; step-brother-in-law, Jim Payne and wife Cheryl, of Bethany; and his dogs, Kipper and Scout. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. at Life Church in Yukon, with burial following in the Mustang Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith & Turner Mortuary, Yukon.
