STEVEN YEAGER

June 9, 1949 - January 17, 2013 EDMOND Steven Lyle Yeager died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 6:00 AM at OU Medical Center in Edmond. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, June 9, 1949, the son of Dr. Douglas Allen Yeager, Jr. and Bonnie Lee Shirley Yeager. He attended primary school in Nichols Hills and was a graduate of Harding High School. Steve married Julia Anna Tuck in 1972 and later married Janet Kay Smith in 1976. He has three sons, Mark Bradley Yeager, Steven Douglas Yeager and Matthew Dean Yeager. Steve has worked for the Chickasha and Edmond Police Departments. Steve acquired his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Central State University and his Law degree from Oklahoma City University. He had a long and successful thirty-five year career in the petroleum land business, working as a landman and most recently as an oil and gas attorney in Oklahoma City. His most often used quote was from Shakespeare's "King Henry V": "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more." He had two chocolate Labrador Retrievers whom he loved dearly, Gert and Gus. Steve is survived by his son Mark Yeager and wife Laura, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, their children, Ashley, Kaylee, Kyle and Lindsey Yeager, and great-grandson Ayden Yeager, son Steven Yeager and wife Amie, of Bedford, Texas, their children, Grant, Sam, Ben and Lila Grace Yeager, son Matthew Yeager and wife Shino, of Edmond, Oklahoma, their children, Ellis and Jude Yeager, brother Douglas Yeager and wife Kay, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, sister Susan Whittle and husband Joe, of Leesville, South Carolina, sister Caroline De La Fleur, of Woodbridge, Virginia, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. A private family ceremony will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013. Interment will be at Fair Lawn Cemetery in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Humane Society at www.okhumane. org/donate in the name of his dogs, Gertrude and Gustav Yeager.
