HorneJan. 27, 1930 - Nov. 8, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Ed, 82, went home to his heavenly Father on Nov. 8, 2012. Ed was born in Harrah, OK, the son of Francis Edward & Thelma Elizabeth (Thorp) Horne. He later moved to Yukon where he attended Yukon Schools and was active in sports. Ed served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank of SFC (E-6). He then attended OCU & OSU and worked at Will Rogers Air National Guard retiring after 42 years of service at the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Ed enjoyed worshiping the Lord at the River of Life Church where he served as a Deacon, board member and usher for many years. Ed and his wife Odessa, enjoyed boating and lake life where the family would gather at their cabin, and attending OU football games. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Emma Pearl Sympson; second wife, Odessa Mary Harris; grandson, Keith Hall; sisters, Jean Reed, Ina Mae Cowden, Florene Melot & Betty Wright; brothers, William, Kenneth, Robert & Carl Horne. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Hall & husband, Larry of Moore, OK; son, Ronald Horne & wife, Karen of Flower Mound, TX; Don Harris of OKC, Marvin Harris of Vian, OK, Sue Harshaw and husband Steve of Walters, OK, Garry Harris & wife, Neta of Edmond, Billy Harris & wife, Lori of Mustang, OK, Jacque Alexander & husband, Tom of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Kai Hall, Tina Harris, Joseph Harris, Christopher Harris, Michael Harshaw, Jeffrey Harshaw, Matthew Harshaw, Erica Harris, Jeff Johnson, Byron Harris, Darryl Harris; and 9 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Ferris & husband, Larry of Blanchard, OK; sister-in-law, Carol Horne of Yukon. Viewing will be 4-8 PM today at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate Ed's life will be 10:00 AM Sat. Nov. 17, 2012 at the River of Life Church, 6901 NW 150th St., OKC, with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
