Sep 25, 1948 - Feb 17, 2013 NESKOWIN, OR Robert Allen Lowry was born September 25, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, MO, to parents, Richard D. Lowry and Ethel Mae (Lowry) Riggs, and passed away on February 17, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital in Portland, OR. Robert spent his early years in New Madrid and Farmington, MO but moved with the family to Oklahoma City in 1963, where he attended and graduated from McGuinness High School. After high school, Robert joined the Army and was soon shipped to Vietnam, where he spent one long year and returned with memories to last a lifetime. Back in the world, Robert began his lifelong career in the home building and remodeling business. Robert married Marsha Cox in 1971, and from that union, sweet Melissa was born. In 1984, Robert married Nancy Marvin, and from that union, Nick and Kaity were born. In 1988, Robert moved his family to Salem, OR and soon thereafter, moved to Neskowin, OR, a beach town on the coast of Oregon, where he fell in love with the surroundings and the climate. Neskowin is where Robert found peace, raised Nick and Kaity, continued in his chosen profession and eventually ran his own successful businesses until the week of his passing. Robert always found time to return to OKC for visits and fly Melissa out to spend time with siblings. Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Mae (Lowry) Riggs; and his first wife, Marsha Lowry. He is survived by his three children: Melissa Lowry, OKC; Nick Lowry & wife Natasha and their children, Nolan and Natalie Nicole, Salem, OR; Kaity Lowry, Neskowin, OR; his father, Richard Lowry, and stepmother, Bobbi, Tulsa, OK; his brothers: David Lowry & wife Sonia, Waldron, AR; Philip Lowry & wife Brenda, OKC; Tom Lowry & wife Dee, Duncan, OK; Patrick Lowry & wife Ginger, Jenks, OK; his sister, Mary Wildman & husband Gary, Muskogee, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom treasure Uncle Robert stories. Robert will be missed by all that shared time with him in this life. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to the .
