March 20, 1963 - Sept 18, 2013 YUKON Barry Wade McCurley went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on March 20, 1963, in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Buford & Pauline (Nickell) McCurley. Barry grew up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, graduating from high school there in 1981. He played football at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, graduating in 1986 with a B.S. in business management. He and Kathy made their home in Yukon, Oklahoma, where they raised their twin sons, Colton and Connor. Barry was an amazing father, loving husband, kind brother, and fierce friend. Family was always his first priority. He spent countless hours coaching his sons and supporting them from the sidelines as they pursued their various sporting, church, and school activities. Barry served as President of the Yukon High School Takedown Club and was a Member at Large of the Y.H.S. Quarterback Club. He was a member of Council Road Baptist Church. Barry worked for USAA Insurance for over 21 years. His job was his mission, and he was the best at assisting those whose lives had been affected by catastrophic events. Barry never met a stranger and was always the first to lend a hand to those in need. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all. Barry is survived by his wife, Kathy Hays McCurley; sons, Colton and Connor; sister, Annette Carter Martin; mother-in-law, Jerry Hays; stepmother, Judy McCurley; sister-in-law, Pam Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
