Obituary Condolences

July 22, 1932 - January 15, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY If Cherie was in charge of this obit. she would have made it - like a lady's skirt - - long enough to cover the subject and short enough to keep it interesting. She had 80 years to work on it, and all told, she spent her time well. Not that she got it right every time, but she gave it her all, and when the time comes to tell the tale of any life, that is all that really matters. Her mother Esther probably shaped more of her young character than any other family member, and despite a fractious family life otherwise, she became a rugged individualist that would rather be poor than take grief for a living. Cherie was a volunteer by nature and liked people (SOME of them) and animals (ALL of them). If you were lucky enough to have known her, you always knew where you stood for better or worse. Her son Kevin was her pride and joy, and despite their differences, she loved him to her last breath. She loved big and lived a gigantic life: no fear in this gal! She sang and laughed, cried and then sang through the tears. Cherie married for love ... every time. Singer-songwriter, lover of travel, painter, artist and community organizer. If seeing the best in others is living life to the fullest, then she lived the hell out of it. A party celebrating her life and life in general will be held at her home Saturday, January 26th at 3 p.m., and all who knew and loved her are welcome. Come raise a glass and share a memory.
