DELLE MONTOYA Obituary
December 25, 1928 - January 7, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Delle Rodriguez was born on 12/25/28 to Ray and Leonor Rodriguez. She grew up and lived in the 0KC area first attending Little Flower School where she became a member of the church. Later on, she became a member of St. James Catholic Church where she formed close friendships with many people including Fr. Kastner, Fr. Donahue, and Deacon Garcia. Delle was always willing to serve the church in any capacity whether by aiding teachers at the school, working at the cafeteria or teaching children about Mexican dance. The public enjoyed watching her children perform at shopping malls. Later on in life, she rejoined Little Flower where she joined the Catholic Action Club. She served as an active volunteer teaching English as a second language and assisting at the annual Little Flower Carnival or anywhere else she was needed. She also made tremendous lifelong friends with Fr. Jesus Sancho, Fr. Genaro as well as all of the nuns at the convent. From there, she moved to Holy Angels Catholic Church where she enjoyed teaching Catechism and helping people with life skills including assisting with job interviews and coping with everyday problems. During her time at Holy Angels, she also befriended the nuns, Fr. Roberto Quant and Deacon Lucio. Later on in life, Delle developed Alzheimer's which progressed to the point she had to quit doing volunteer work. She soon returned to St. James where she met Fr. Wood, Fr. Pruett and Deacon Marti. She was preceded in death by four children: daughters Sandy, Rosemary (Cissy), Debbie, son Anthony, brothers Roy, Bill, George and sister Rosa Sanchez. Known by her family as Delita, she is survived by her loving husband Victor Montoya, daughter Nancy Doonkeen and her husband Robert, daughter Victoria Montoya and son Anthony "Panchito" and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Delle's famous words were, "Lord Jesus and Blessed Virgin Mary, I love you, bless me."
