Nov. 6, 1930 - July 10, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY, OK Donald Gene Mashburn was born November 6, 1930 in Coweta, Oklahoma the son of James Stevenson and Effie Roselle (Howard) Mashburn. He completed this life on Monday, July 10, 2017. Don graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1958 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Following graduation he worked for several oil companies until 1975 when he organized and operated Mashburn Resources Company, an independent exploration and production company. He married Emma Lee Loveall on March 22, 1948. They were married for 61 years when she died on May 15, 2009. They lived in several states and Venezuela before moving to Oklahoma City in 1963 where they raised their family. He was a longtime member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.Don was drafted and served two years in the US Army during the Korean War. After the death of Lee, he married Rae Wymer Nordquist on November 26, 2010.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his six brothers and sisters.He is survived by his wife, Rae; his sons, Rev. Donald G. Mashburn, II and his wife Cathy of Marion, KS and John Mashburn of OKC; his daughters, Debra Keen and her husband R.G. of Dripping Springs, TX, Teresa Bergman and her husband Michael of OKC and Cheryl Burns of Lawrence, KS; his step-sons, Mark Nordquist and his wife Tracy of Stillwater, OK and Lane Nordquist and his wife Ellen of Beverly, MA; his step-daughter, Jana Nordquist of Sarasota, FL; his eight grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday in the Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 15th, in the Spring Creek Baptist Church with interment following in Spring Creek Cemetery.Memorials may be made to: Spring Creek Baptist Church, 11701 N.
