DOUG FORD Obituary
July 14, 1926 - Jan 5, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Wm. Doug Ford, age 87, died the way he lived, with dignity and purpose. He went to meet his Savior on Sunday, January 5, 2014. Doug was born in Enid, OK on July 14, 1926. He was the son of Carl and Ruby Ford. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at the University of Oklahoma. In 1944, he joined the Navy and after training, was assigned to the USS Magoffin. After the war, he worked with his father as an oil and gas landman. Wanda Manek joined him as his secretary and office manager in 1965 and has worked with him ever since that time. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had maintained his sobriety since 1965. He created the CARUDO Foundation with Tommy Grey and Wanda Manek in honor of his parents. Doug liked everyone and was thankful for his many friends. An avid golf and tennis player, he was a founding member of the Quail Creek Country Club. His parents; and brother, Dick Ford; preceded him in death. He is survived by his three daughters, Kieran Ford Hilu, Karla Ford Ray, and Kristine Ford Ralambos; along with four grandchildren, Yasamine Hilu Christopherson, Enmar Hilu, Ruby and Angela Ralambos; and three great-grandchildren, Zave and Zane Munger and Olivia Christopherson. Friends who wish may pay their respects on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Smith and Kernke North May Ave. from 4 to 6 p.m. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the Enid Cemetery.
