GEORGE HARMS Obituary
April 13, 1929 - Aug. 5, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY George Burton Harms was born on April 13, 1929, in Hobart, OK, the son of A.D. and Helen Emily (Dickinson) Harms. He completed this life on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at the age of 88. Burton graduated from the Fire Safety and Engineering School at Oklahoma State University. He was a Fire Protection Contractor installing sprinkler systems. Burton married Arminta Jean McGlasson Feb. 12, 1955, in Oklahoma City. Burton is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arminta; his sons, Gale Burton Harms, of Oklahoma City; Lewis Wayne Harms, of Blanchard, OK; and Arthur Lee Harms and his wife Kathy, of Grove, OK; his daughter, Sharon Lynn Harms, of Bethany, OK; his brothers, A.D. Harms, Jr., of Tyler, TX; and Bobby Ray Harms, of Arlington, TX; his grandchildren, Wesley Tyler Sweat, Emily Ann Craig, Austin Joseph Harms, Alexander Burton Harms, and Carrie Rena Harms; and his great-grandchildren, Charles Donley Craig and George Westin Craig. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Vondel Smith Mortuary North, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the Vondel Smith Mortuary North Chapel with interment to follow in Resthaven. Memorials may be made to the Jesus House, 1335 W Sheridan Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73106; or Skyline Urban Ministries, 500 SE 15th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73129.
