McLennanJuly 13, 1924 - May 13, 2018 MIDWEST CITY Geraldine Ruth Coover McLennan passed away peacefully on May 13, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on Sunday, July 13, 1924, to Rev. J. Cecil & Fern Elva Coover in Keenan, Oklahoma-Woodward County. She worked at the age of 16 years at the big B&O Sears Store in Temple, OK. She worked at various stores in OKC & MWC before retiring in 1986 after 30 years of service. She met her husband W.L. (Mac) McLennan at a softball game in OKC and they were married August 31, 1946. They had 6 children, two of which died at birth, W.L. Jr. and Kathy Sue. She raised the other 4 children, Linda, Benny, Wes and Karen, by herself after the untimely death of her husband in 1962. Her son, Benny, was killed in 1984. Ruth and her family were long time members of the Douglas Blvd. United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.L. McLennan; sons, W.L. McLennan, Jr., Benjamin R. McLennan; daughter, Kathy Sue McLennan; brothers, Jerry Coover, Jean Coover; and sister, Ruby Lu Fenton. She is survived by her children, Karen and Danny Jacobs, Linda and Jim Rooney, Wes and Linda McLennan; sisters, Marie Vollmer, Lorraine Robertson, Inabel Coover; brother Jimmy Coover; 9 grandchildren, Krista, Shane, Kasey, Lindsay, Chad, Michelle, Andrea, Mandy, Traci; 24 great grandchildren, Kylie, Ravyn, Ryker, Cambree, Zane, Mia, Gavin, Macy, Jake, Shelby, Shaylee, Dylan, Mali, Miller, Dylan, Logan, Claire, Carter, Cruse, Sheridan, Jordan, Ryland, Kelsey and Kennedy; 1 great great granddaughter, Mireya; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service to celebrate Ruth's life will be 1PM, Friday, May 18, 2018, at Wickline United Methodist Church with interment following at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland, OK.
