Junice Frazier

1929 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
July 17, 1929 - July 9, 2017 NORMAN Junice S. Frazier, 87, former Norman resident, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Nan was beloved by her family. The world has shifted with our loss. She was born July 17, 1929, in Sweetwater, TX to P.M. & Mabel (Reeves) Jeffcoat. She grew up in New Deal, TX, attended school and graduated from there. She married Guy Runnels in 1947 in Lubbock, TX. She was a car hop at the Hi D Ho, a seamstress for a cleaners, a bookkeeper at Bell's Dairy, all in Lubbock. They had four children. She later married the true love of her life, Richard "Dick" Frazier, Sr., in 1964 in Oklahoma City. Dick was an insurance salesman and part-time music minister at many Baptist churches. They were members of the First Baptist Church in Norman. She was Past President of the Ladies Book Club in Oklahoma City and a volunteer at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma. Junice was an avid gardener, loved quilting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful, loving and caring mother and grandmother. Summers were always special at Frazier Acre. She was a great gardener, snake killer, reunion planner, and cook. She had more spices than McCormick. Her daughter and granddaughters were often treated to her sewing creations. Yay Nan! Junice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Frazier; stepson, Dick Frazier Jr.; two children, Gwendalyn Runnels and Michael Runnels; one sister, Audrey Hale; and two brothers, Monroe Jeffcoat and Dalton Jeffcoat. Junice is survived by two children: actor, singer and Papa, Terry Runnels, of Oklahoma City; and pharmaceutical salesperson extraordinaire and RN, Candis Watson & husband Rick, of Dallas; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Jeffcoat, of Lubbock, TX; and Wayne Jeffcoat, of Tahoka, TX; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Primrose Funeral Service Chapel with Dr. Wade Smith, officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
