Nov 25, 1928 - Dec 28, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Leslie Waid Hohstadt died 2:30 a.m. on December 28 at the Meadowlake Estates nursing home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Nelda Robinson, who died four months earlier. Survivors include brother, Dr. Thomas Hohstadt, and Dr. Hohstadt's wife, Muriel, both of Odessa, Texas; and Waid's brother-in-law, Webster Robison, of Healdton, Oklahoma. Waid was born on November 25, 1928, in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Leslie Melvin Hohstadt and Maye Waid Hohstadt. He married Edith Robinson on July 5, 1948. He worked most of his life in the retail sales business, specializing in men's clothing. For several years, he was the manager of Rothschild's Men's Store. He resided at 2633 S.W. 67th Street in Oklahoma City until April 2012. Waid was a devoted Christian and faithful churchgoer. He brought the well-known missionary, Bill Amberg, to Christ and continued to support Amberg's missionary efforts for many years. As example of Waid's compassion for others, he and his wife, Edith, spent several hours of each day caring for Waid's mother during her many years in a nursing home. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 31 at Knob Hill Baptist Church, 2700 S.W. 59th Street in Oklahoma City. The burial service will be held immediately following in the Old Cornish Cemetery in Healton, Oklahoma.His brother's family expresses special appreciation to Waid's friend, Francisco Javier Silva. "Javi" was the hidden angel that believers often mention.
