MARK KOSS Obituary
April 24, 1954 - May 5, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY On Friday, May 5, 2017, the world felt the angst of losing a man of countless good earthly works. Mark Theodore Koss, age 63, of Oklahoma City, passed away, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born April 24, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Theodore Koss and Katherine Koss. Mark graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School in 1972, earned his bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1976, and received a law degree from Oklahoma City University in 1979. He was a man guided by morals, dedicating his life to the Oklahoma legal system. He volunteered his professional services to OETA's "Ask a Lawyer" for more than 30 years and, in his later years, led the Oklahoma Bar Association's Appellate Courts section. A man of commendable dedication, he was the only lawyer to ever bring a case to the Oklahoma Supreme Court three times and win. Mark was blessed with O negative "Baby Blood" used universally for any baby regardless their blood type. Knowing the importance of his blood type, he donated over 10 gallons of blood during his lifetime. An inspiration to many, Mark is survived by his mother, Katherine, 87; brother, Theodore Koss Jr., 61; and sons, Michael Koss, 32; and Brian Koss, 28; and was truly a great man whose legacy will remain in our memories forever. Memorial Services for Mark Koss will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home at 14624 N. May Ave. in Oklahoma City. The family will be there to greet relatives and friends.
