1922 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Anderson Jan. 16, 1922 - March 1, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Everyone knew her as Frances. She came into this world Jan. 16, 1922, and went to a better one on March 1, 2018, at the age of 96. She lived her life to the fullest. She was the "Auntie Mame" everyone envied, as she believed "life was a banquet." In the 1940s and '50s, she was a burlesque dancer known as LaVonne DuMont and traveled from the West Coast to Minnesota and to Florida. She became a licensed bartender, a "mixologist" she called it, and when Thanksgiving and Christmas came, she prepared meals for the patrons of the bars and night clubs who had nowhere else to go. In 1990, she came back home to Oklahoma City to live with and care for her only sister, Juanita Redmon. She outlived four or five husbands; and her only daughter, Glenda French; leaving behind nieces; nephews; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; walkers at Northpark Mall who knew her; her dog, Cookie; and residents at Mason's Landing Town Homes; all who will miss this amazing woman. And, in addition, thank you to the staff at The Lakes Care Center.
