Mayme Marguerite (Mullikin) Atchey, 92 years, went to sleep in Jesus on June 26, 2006 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Mayme was born the sixth child of Perry Olney and Anna Maria Sophia (Koenig) Mullikin in Somerset, Nebraska, near North Platte, on February 14, 1914 making her a Valentines Day baby. Mayme graduated from North Platte High School in 1933. On July 17, 1933 in Oklahoma City she married George L. 'Bud' Atchey, also of North Platte, who was the brother-in-law of her brother, C. Albert. Mayme and Bud resided in Oklahoma City for thirty-two years before moving to Midwest City where they lived for another thirty-eight years. Mayme then moved to Yukon in 2003 to live with her daughter, Lillene. Mayme was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Oklahoma City for fifty-nine years. She enjoyed gardening and canning vegetables she grew, playing cards and square dancing. Mayme and Bud were charter members of Fun Timer's Square Dance Club in Midwest City. Mayme retired from her own home-based business, MayBud's Engravers, where, for thirty years she made badges for square dancing clubs and conventions. Mayme is survived by her daughter, Lillene Murphy of the home; two granddaughters, Shannon and husband Vialo Weis of Yukon, Oklahoma; and Kelly and husband Robert Keely of Okemah, Oklahoma; two great-grandchildren, Susen and husband Don Wright of Kettering, Ohio; and David Weis of Loma Linda, California; two great-great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Kristen Wright of Kettering, Ohio; one sister, Bessie L. Royston of Comanche, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, of 60 years; her parents Perry and Anna Mullikin, brothers, Charles W., David B., C. Albert, and Walter R., and infant siblings, Marigold A. and William J. Mullikin. Services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 10:30AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church at 13 N. Robinson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73103.
