PEGGY MASSEY Obituary
Feb. 19, 1937 - Dec. 2, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Peggy Ailene Massey (nee Phillips), age 80, Oklahoma City, passed away to join her Lord and Savior Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017. Peggy was born on Feb. 19, 1937, in Holdenville, OK to Thomas R. and Aldene Phillips. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; two sons, Thomas II and Kevin, both of Oklahoma City; daughters, LaDonna Tebbe, of Katy, TX; and Lawren Massey, of Lawrenceville, GA; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Massey, Shannon Porter, Kevin Massey II, Steven Massey, Natalie Kathain, Sarah Provancher, Katherine Massey, Victoria Carroll, Julia Tebbe, and Johnathan Tebbe; and her 15 great-grandchildren, Christian, Kolby, Klayten, Haiden, Eastyn, Kennedy, Axyl, Alli, Erin, Megan, Ryder, Jackson, Elijah, Jacob, and Logan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas R. and Aldene Phillips; and her sister, Joy Cummings. Peggy graduated from Holdenville High School and Southern Nazarene University with a degree in management of human resources. She was the co-owner and publisher of the Holdenville Daily News from 1967 to 1970 with her husband, Thomas. She had worked many years for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a deputy secretary when she retired in 2002. Peggy was a longtime member and volunteer of the First Southern Baptist Church and Sooner Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home on Dec. 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK.
