Obituary Condolences

Nov 8, 1931 - Jan 17, 2013 YUKON Sondra Sue Wester Bonds was born Nov. 8, 1931, in Marietta, OK. She passed away Jan. 17, 2013, in Yukon, OK, leaving behind four daughters, Linda Nishimura, son Kenny, husband Walter, and Walter's children, Pat, Scott and their five children; Vickie Dennis, married to Larry, with four children, Steve Bayless, Jeffrey Bayless, Nick Dennis, and Lindsay Dennis; Lorrie Latimer, husband Kenny, with sons, Sean, his wife Nikky, and three stepchildren, Hank, Kyle and Kevin; and Tracy Robinson, spouse Todd, and two boys, Blake and Zack. She also has two great-children, Hunter Thomas and Hali Taylor; and five more beautiful step-grandchildren in Hawaii. Sondra graduated from Ardmore High School. With her ex-husband, Ken Bonds, she raised four daughters. Not long after they wed, the first daughter, Linda, came along; it became apparent that they would need to move to the "big CITY." Now, being in the "big city," she found just what she wanted -- she needed to serve the Lord, from gathering papers for the paper drive, driving the truck herself, to sewing clothing, she saw the needs of the world as her mission trip at home. She worked with the young women in the church several times and made friends that lasted her entire lifetime and brought her great joy. Also important to Sondra was the organization of a strong, voluntary group for United Cerebral Palsy Local- sponsored Telethons. She worked long and hard hours to help make the Cerebral Palsy telethon a huge success here in Oklahoma City. She gathered and organized over 1,000 volunteers each year to make the OKC telethon one of the best around the country. She gave so much to others: her heart, her soul, her job all centered around her children and grandchildren and the older women of the Church. All of these jobs centered around how she could help others - ALWAYS there, always helping, always offering a hand out or hand up. She leaves her four daughters with the honor and tribute to continue with her legacy of giving and caring for others. We promise to not let you down, Mom. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, at the Spring Creek Baptist Church in Oklaoma City. Online condolences may be signed at www.yandafuneral.com
