March 26, 1938 - Nov 15, 2012 WARR ACRES Earl was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 26, 1938, to Marion Neely Pope and Polly Ely. He died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at St. Anthony Hospital. Earl served in the U.S. Marines for three years and was stationed in Japan, and worked in offshore oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico as a derrick hand, which he really enjoyed. He lived in Maryland and Florida, pursuing an insurance career. After moving to OKC, he was employed by several local car dealerships. He especially enjoyed gardening, fishing, making his annual gumbo, gambling, Nascar racing and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bobby and Nicky; his beloved daughter, Tammy ChamBon; and granddaughter, Tiffany Chantelle ChamBon. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deanna Joan Pope; three children, Marion Richard "Rick" Pope, Ginger Winston and husband Val, and Paula Campbell and husband David; two stepsons, Kelly Schuler and wife Shannon, and Kevin Schuler; son-in-law, Chico ChamBon; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Springdale Baptist Church, 3900 NW 50th St, OKC, OK 73112.
