DORIS KUPKA Obituary
Feb. 16, 1927 - Feb. 2, 2014 NORMAN Doris Jean was born to Bill and Bessie Gowin on February 16, 1927. She attended Mt. St. Mary's High School in Oklahoma City. Doris changed her address between Oklahoma City and the San Francisco Bay area several times while raising her family before settling in Las Vegas, NV in 1978 when she married Andrew Kupka. Following Andy's passing, she returned to Norman, OK, to be close to her family. Doris enjoyed a crowd, a night out and a game of cards. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, classic movies and audiobooks. Doris passed away in her Norman home in the early hours of Sunday, February 2, 2014. Doris was preceded in death by her parents and step-parents; her first husband, George Smith; and her second husband, Andrew Kupka. Doris is survived by her daughter, Linda Lawson and husband James; her son, George Owen "Bob" Smith Jr. and wife Deborah; seven grandchildren; and her 14 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Doris will be from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Havenbrook Funeral Home. A Wake will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel, 3401 Havenbrook Street, in Norman, with interment following at Rose Hill Burial Park in Oklahoma City. Arrangements for Doris and her family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
