Obituary Condolences

Jan. 8, 1924 - Feb. 18, 2014 MIDWEST CITY Mary Jane Caram, 1/8/1924 to 2/18/2014. Mary Jane was born to David and Naomi Foreman in Jacksboro, Texas. She graduated from Bristow High School in 1943. She has a sister Jerry and a brother Bud who has since passed. Jane met the love of her life, Arthur Caram, after dropping a hammer on his head at what is now Tinker AFB during WW II. Janie as she was often called was a "Rosie the Riveter," she performed maintenance on Aircraft. Her claim to fame is performing maintenance on "Enola Gay." Jane and Art married in May 9 of '43 and began a life in Midwest City. It is difficult to speak about Jane without speaking about Art, oddly difficult to separate the two. They reared four boys, often doing maintenance at 600 Traub after somewhat rambunctious behavior. David, Richard, Dan, and Chris were often called out even if Jane was specifically looking for just one of them. Jane and Art provided for their family sending them to college and always supporting decisions they made - they kept copious notes on all the history and keepsakes they collected over the years. Jane documented every accomplishment of her sons and when grandchildren and great grandchildren began to arrive; she remained stalwart in her practice. She loved her family including Loretta, Chris, Denise and Sandy and the seven grandchildren and seven, and counting, great grandchildren. Her other passions, included collecting and framing photos, gardening, going to church, collecting "Peanuts" comic strips and volunteering at MWC Hospital and an extremely clean home. Living 90 years, a legacy embedded, with her faith in Christ, loving her family and now she has joined her love Arthur - she will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at First Christian Church in Midwest City, OK with burial to follow in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
