EUGENE YORK Obituary
July 31, 1925 - March 6, 2014 EDMOND "Gene" was born July 31, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia, where he resided until he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1943. At the conclusion of World War II, he completed his schooling and received an LLB degree from Atlanta Law School in 1950. He was then recalled into the Air Force, where he spent approximately five years with the Legal Office and Office of Special Investigations. Gene resigned from the Air Force in 1956 and entered the F.B.I., where he was assigned numerous locations. He retired in 1977 after acting as an major case supervisor since 1972 in Oklahoma City. He operated his own consulting and management companies until January 1981, at which time he became Director of Safety and Security at St. Anthony Hospital, where he retired in the late 1980s. Gene was an avid gardener and poker player, where he enjoyed playing with his friends in Concho. He is survived by his wife, Toni York, of the home; one son, Ed York, of California; two grandchildren; one great-grandson, and his loyal dog, Hank. He was preceded in death by two sons. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11 at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to OMRF - Heart Division, 825 NE 13th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
