Obituary Condolences

WilliamsSept 27, 1918 - June 6, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Ataline, 95, went to be with her Lord June 6, 2014, in OKC. She was born September 27, 1918, to Earnest and Ella Hamm Riedel in Francis, OK. She was the lone survivor of 11 Riedel children. She married Jim Williams in Stratford, OK on October 9, 1937. They were married 55 years until Jim's passing in 1993. Ataline was a lifelong member of the Free Will Baptist Church. She served in a number of church positions as she assisted her husband Jim with his duties as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. At her death, she was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of OKC. She is survived by her son, Ed and his wife Fran, of OKC; three grandchildren, Scott and his wife Mary, of Norman; Matt and his wife Lori, of OKC; and Sandi Cobb and husband Steve, of Sherman, TX; 15 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Growing up, Mom taught me the importance of loyalty to the Lord and His church; you cannot out give the Lord and always pray. Thanks, Mom! Memorial donations may be made to the J.D. McCarty Center in Norman, OK (www.jdmc.org). Viewing will be held 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Vondel Smith Mortuary South Western. Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the South Colonial Chapel with burial following at Sunny Lane Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor Nursing Home for their care and loving support of Mom these past months.
