Obituary Condolences

HeartsillJuly 7, 1924 - July 11, 2014 MUSTANG Jesse Aline Phillips Heartsill was born on July 7, 1924, to Alvin and Chatty Phillips and passed away July 11, 2014, to join her loving husband, Milt; and son, Scott; at the feet of the Holy Father. She was 90 years young. She was raised in the Ardmore area; graduated from Lone Grove High School at age 16 as the Valedictorian; then attended Oklahoma University, where she played basketball. She once owned a credit bureau that she ran from home. She also held several secretarial positions in her younger years. After marrying and having two children, Phyllis and Scott, she and Milt moved around the state as he was promoted up the Oklahoma Natural Gas Corporate ladder. They finally settled in Ponca City, where she was very active in the community. Aline was in Rotary Anns; was past president of the Ponca City Garden Council; past president of the Sage, Rosemary and Thyme garden club; gave tours of the Marland Mansion; worked at the Cann Gardens; served on many committees at First United Methodist Church, of Ponca City; and was a Certified Master Gardener. After her husband passed away in 2001, she moved to Mustang, where she organized and started a garden club. She transferred her Ponca City Master Gardener membership to Oklahoma County Master Gardeners. Aline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Gerry Church, of Mustang; her four grandchildren, Jennifer Elizabeth Imes, of Oklahoma City; Heather Michelle Cleveland and husband Brad, of Colorado; Jeremy Scott Imes and wife Stevi, of Yukon; and Kimberly Renae Capra and husband Doyle, of Kansas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for research in myelodysplastic syndrome. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, of Yukon, OK with interment to follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore, OK.
