Obituary Condolences

Nov. 27, 1927 - Aug. 17, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Another member of the Greatest Generation has gone to her reward. Elizabeth Louise "Betty" (McCarty) Case was born November 27, 1927, in Collinsville, OK, to Henry Louis & Vera Lee (Morgan) McCarty. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1936. Betty graduated from Central High School in 1945 where she was a member of the Black Skirts Pep Club. Betty faithfully attended her `45' dinner group during the last several years and enjoyed lifelong friendships that she so deeply valued. Betty married the love of her life, Owen Clark Case, in Oklahoma City on January 25, 1947; a marriage that would last more than 65 years and produce two sons, Kenny Lee Case and Danny Lee Case. Betty was a vociferous reader, reading several books a week. She also mastered the art of china painting and produced beautiful works of art enjoyed by all. Most of all, Betty was a woman of strength and real substance. She embraced her role as the heart and soul of the family by loving each member of her family unconditionally and always giving her best to each of them, offering the wisdom of her lifetime. She carried herself with poise and confidence and spoke and wrote in a most articulate fashion. She had many and varied interests, including her love of beautiful antiques, her interest in her family history, and her desire to continue the learning process until life is over. Betty met and mastered numerous challenges in her life, including a number of serious medical issues. She pragmatically sought treatments, kept a positive attitude and always showed great strength and courage, and conquered them all, one by one. But in the end, she could not win the battle with cancer. And even for our beloved Betty, the journey on earth eventually must come to an end. She passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014, with her loving family by her side. She will be remembered for her strength, her wisdom, her keen sense of humor, her love of family, her poise and grace, and her quick wit that was her hallmark. The world lost a remarkable woman and this earth will be a slightly duller place without her. She was preceded in death by her parents. She left behind her beloved husband, Clark, son Ken & wife Janet, son Dan & wife Barbra, and grandson, Travis, all of Oklahoma City. She was also survived by her brother, Henry, his wife, Janice, and their five children. Services will be 10am, Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visit Betty's online memorial atwww.MemorialParkOKC.com
