Bernice Anderson Obituary
Bernice L. Anderson, 84, died Nov. 10, 2009, in Oklahoma City. She was born May 29, 1925, in Verdon, Neb., the daughter of F.W. and Opal Gephart. She graduated from high school in Verdon, Neb. She lived in Denver prior to coming to Oklahoma City in 1956. She worked for Streets Dress Shop for several years before going to work at the State Capitol as a secretary for the legislature. Bernice married Andy Anderson. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Lincoln Park Women's Golf Association where she had a 9 handicap. She also enjoyed shopping and dancing and had a green thumb. She had a special love for her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Anderson, her parents, and brother, David Lee Gephart. She is survived by two sons, Mark Bennett and wife Sue and David Bennett and wife Melissa; two sisters, Norma Wintz and Violet Richardson; brother, Harold Gephart and wife Zerlene; six grandchildren, Tony, Tim, Ashley, Greg and wife Alyson, Jackson, and Corey; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday, Nov. 13, at 1:00 p.m., at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave., with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
