Oct 25, 1927 - Feb 27, 2012 LINDSAY Mary "Helen" Harmon, an angel on Earth, was born on Oct. 25, 1927, in Foster, (Marlow area) Oklahoma, to Marvin "Buster" Sullivan & Bessie Mae Sullivan. She was the second born of nine children, eight girls and one boy. She passed away at home in Lindsay, Oklahoma, on February 27, 2012. Helen married the love of her life, Buddy B. Harmon, on February 6, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were married for 63 years.Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy, on January 1, 2008; her parents; her siblings, Janie Cummings and Imogene Bell; and two children, Sheila Gay and Timothy Wayne Harmon. Mrs. Harmon is survived by her children: Ms. Linda Hawkins and husband Gene of Oklahoma City, OK; Ms. Donna Price and husband Donald of Tuttle, OK; and Ms. Kathy Zalmanzig of Lindsay, OK; her siblings: Evelyn Harmon, Maysville, OK; Floyd Marvin Sullivan, Fayetteville, AR; Marva "Judy" Palmer, Duncan, OK; Gloria "Jody" Kouns, Waurika, OK; Jimi Wright, Marlow, OK; and Jacquelyn Windsor, Noble, OK. Helen also leaves eight grandchildren: Jay Hawkins, Michele Hatfield, James Hawkins, Todd Henderson, Tyler Zalmanzig, Bo Zalmanzig, Coy Price, and Brenda Battles; and twelve great-grandchildren: Brittany, Kayla, Abbey, Emily Hawkins; Timothy, Jillian, Shalina, Seairra, Adara, Abbey Price; William and Kelsey. Helen worked many jobs in her lifetime, but considered her most important job her family. She and her husband had five children and always strived to have a happy, loving home for their children.Helen worked for C.R. Anthony's for numerous years while they were a department store in Lindsay, OK, in the 1960s and 1970s, and later Eubanks Dept. Store. She had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lindsay, OK since 1959, making her a charter member. She raised all her children in this church, where she taught the four and five year olds in Sunday School for several years. Her family will remember all her kind and giving ways through their lives. She had a way of making everyone she came in contact with feel special. She was a loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. Hers was a life well-lived, and one to be proud of. We will always love you Mom. Funeral services for Mrs. Harmon were held at two o'clock p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Calvary Baptist Church, located at 410 W. Chickasaw in Lindsay, Oklahoma, with Pastor Matthew Celoria officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Services under the direction of B.G.
