May 11, 1962 - September 27, 2012 HARRAH Monica Leigh Rostykus lived her earthly life from May 11, 1962 - September 27, 2012. It is the DASH in Monica's life that was her amazing story. Her larger than life, generous heart made an impact on everyone she met. Monica was born and raised in Oklahoma City until 1973, then moved to McLoud, OK at age 11. She graduated from McLoud HS in 1980. Monica was very active in several clubs and was on the girls varsity basketball team. Monica worked at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center for 29 years and loved her co-workers like family. Monica fought a long, courageous battle with breast cancer for the past four and half years. Her love for the Lord and indomitable spirit remained a steady force throughout her battle. She has inspired many friends and family members as she spread her grace and constant faith in the Lord! Monica was preceded in death by her father, Segismundo Moises Luza. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Leo Rostykus; her two precious children, Mason Dearing and wife Jordan, and Morgan Dearing; and four adorable grandsons, Zayden, Daxson, Baylor and Mattix. Monica is also survived by her mother, Dorothy Luza; three sisters, Alicia Myers and husband Sam, Becky Shannonhouse and Gloria Luza; two brothers, Tom and Christopher Luza. She has an extended family of many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She will forever be missed and always remain in our hearts. Visitation will be at Hibbs Funeral Home, 2190 Harper St., Choctaw, OK 73020 on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 9am-5pm and Friday October 5, 2012 from 9a-8p. Family will greet visitors from 6-8pm on Friday. Her Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, 5700 NW 63rd, OKC, OK with burial to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah, OK. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the INTEGRIS Hospice House. Their loving care will never be forgotten.
