Obituary Condolences

Dec 15, 1952 - Oct 6, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY John E. Watson, our beloved husband, father, papa, and friend, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 6th. John was born on December 15, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Ellis and Margret Watson. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Debi; one daughter, Stephanie Mertens & husband Stephen and granddaughter, Addy, of Edmond; a sister, Julie Williams & husband Willie and son, Billy, of Dallas, TX; two brothers, Jerry and Jeff, of Oklahoma City; mother-in-law, Joy Woodard; two sisters-in-law, Becky Hanks and Shirley Ingram; and brother-in-law, Jerry Ingram; all of Oklahoma City. John was preceded in death by his parents. He shall be remembered and missed by a host of other relatives and many friends. John joined the Oklahoma City Police Force straight out of high school and was a member of the Police Pistol Team. He was also a member of the National Guard. After serving the PD for 13 years, he left to follow his passion in Environmental and Safety. At the time of his death, he was working for New Dominion. Visitation will be at the funeral home today 4-8 p.m. Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 at the Vondel L. Smith & Son North Colonial Chapel, with burial to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
