HigginsApril 23, 1931 - December 11, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Imogene, 81, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord & Savior on Dec 11, 2012. Imogene was born April 23, 1931 in Hughes Co., OK to her parents, Ernest & Roma Allen. On Nov. 5, 1949, she married the love of her life, Carl Gene Higgins on a family farm in Hughes Co., OK. This union of marriage was blessed with two children, Lynn & Carla. Imogene was truly a Proverbs 31 woman. A wonderful & creative homemaker, Imogene was an amazingly good cook, skilled seamstress, & master of Do-It-Yourself projects including landscaping, bricking a fireplace, home restoration, refinishing furniture, and upholstery, just to name a few of her many talents. She blessed so many people with her talent, time & friendship. She had a heart for serving the Lord & others. She was a longtime member of Shartel Church of God. Although it breaks our hearts for her to leave us now, we rejoice in knowing we will be reunited with her in Heaven someday and she has received her eternal reward. Preceded in death by her parents. Imogene leaves cherished memories with her loving husband of 63 years, Carl Gene Higgins of the home; son, Steven "Lynn" Higgins & wife, Barbara of OKC, OK; daughter, Carla Scott & husband, Randy of Edmond, OK; 4 grandchildren, Ben Higgins & wife, Samantha of Poplar Bluff, MO, Brian Higgins & wife, Abby of Yukon, OK, Meredith and Macall Scott, both of Edmond, OK; 4 great grandsons, Jackson, Tyson, Steven & Lleyton Higgins; many beloved brothers & sisters-in-law, numerous nieces & nephews, countless cousins, & many loving friends. Viewing will be at the Vondel Smith & Son Mortuary at South Lakes from 4-8 PM Thursday with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate her life will be 11:00 AM Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Shartel Church of God, 11600 S. Western Ave. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at the Holdenville Cem. in Holdenville, OK.
