Obituary Condolences

Aug 21, 1943 - Feb 21, 2013 EDMOND Charlotte Annette (Moore) Worsham went to be with her heavenly Father on 21 February 2013 after a long struggle with cancer. She was born on August 21, 1943, in Durant, OK to G. Bruce Moore and Juanita C. McCoy. Charlotte attended U.S. Grant High School for five years and after a move, graduated from Moore High School in 1961. Charlotte married Danny J. Worsham, Sr. in December of 1961, and from this marriage, two children were born, Danny J. Worsham, Jr. and Marsha Hicks. Charlotte owned and operated the Around The Corner Restaurant in Downtown Edmond, OK for 24 years and retired in April 2012. Around The Corner was a family restaurant, and Charlotte wanted everyone to feel at home, treated everyone the same, and many long-lasting friendships were made there. She was always joking, pulling pranks and even climbed a tree trying to save the trees on Broadway. Everyone knew her as the "Chicken Lady," and customers and family said, "every time we see a chicken, we think of you." "Bicycle Bob" was one of her many friends. Contributions from her customers went to the purchase of the statues in front of the restaurant, "Ham & Eggs" and "Girl Feeding Chickens." Charlotte was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and grandfather, Geddie E. McCoy and Willard McCoy; and paternal grandfather, William "Tobe" Moore - of Durant, OK; and is survived by her mother, Juanita Foresee, of Midwest City; her father, G. Bruce Moore, of Durant, OK; aunt, Elizabeth Beavers, of Durant, OK; and children: Danny J. Worsham, Jr. ( Janet), of Carthage, TX; daughter, Marsha Hicks, of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Ian and Dylan Hicks, Norman, OK; Sara Redfern, of Carthage, TX; and James Posey and wife, of Carthage, TX; sisters: Sherry Meador (James), of Newcastle, OK; Candy Reece (Bob), Oklahoma City, OK; brothers: John C. Gibson (Wanda), Moore, OK; Jimmy Gibson (Cathy), Newalla, OK; Ted Moore, Durant, OK; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Autumn Bridge Hospice for their support and special friends, Pat and Dana Talley, as well as many other friends for their love and support through her struggle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, Charlotte wished that donations be made to the Hope Center in Edmond. Services will be held at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, OK, at 10 a.m. Monday, 25 February 2013.
