June 27, 1934 - Feb 22, 2013 CUSHING James Andrew Baker, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2013, at Stillwater Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends. There will be viewing at Palmer Funeral Home in Cushing, OK on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. James was born in Schlegel, OK on June 27, 1934, to Henry and Dicy Mable (Webb) Baker. He moved to Cushing in 1944 and graduated from Cushing High School in 1952. James owned and operated Baker Drywall 1952-1985. He worked as Project Manager for Continental Concrete 1985-1995. James also worked as Project Manager for BJP Enterprises in Guthrie, Oklahoma, 1995-2006. In 2006 to present, he was an associate with Infinity Metering in Claremore, Oklahoma. James enjoyed the outdoors, especially when hunting and trout fishing. His favorite place was Roaring River in Missouri, which was his ancestral home state. He also enjoyed time on his tractor. James married Isabelle G. Whan in 1952. They had three sons, Carl Irvin, James Daniel, and David Wayne. He later married Cathy Lynn Beckner in 1985. They had a son, James Austin; and a daughter, Destiny Nicole'. James was preceded in death by both parents, Henry Baker and Dicy Mable Woodall; and stepfather, Thomas D. Woodall. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Cathy; sons: Carl and wife Susan, of Cushing; James Daniel and Christy, of Cushing; David Wayne, of Stillwater; and James Austin and his wife Rachael, of Missouri; one daughter, Destiny Nicole' Baker and Tim Bertucci, of Cushing; one sister, Anna Faye Crites and husband Paul, of Broken Arrow; and one uncle, HB Webb and his wife Lenore, of Cushing. He is also survived by grandchildren: Brian Christopher Baker and wife Cheri, of Texas; Tyler James Baker, Morgan Elizabeth Baker and Malea Tatiana Baker, of Missouri; Jordan Nicole, Taylor Lynn, Isis Nicole, and Kira Dawn, of Cushing; Gavin Baker, of Cushing; Niquita, Allison Riley, and Camber Clenney. Surviving great-grandchildren are Kaylee Lane Baker and Ethan Alexander Baker, of Texas; Kaylynn Marie Roberts, Kayden Allen Roberts and Kenzie.
