Obituary Condolences

March 28, 1933 - July 2, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Patricia "Pat" was raised in Anadarko, OK until she was 15. Then, her husband, Gene took over for her parents when he and Pat married on July 13, 1948. She was a stay-at-home wife and mother until they moved to Binger, OK in 1962 when they purchased 3 Way Grocery. Despite their limited education, they successfully ran the business until their retirement. Pat became a talented artist, enthusiastic bingo and casino player, and avid reader. Her most recent music loves ranged from George Jones to Alicia Keys to Andrea Bocelli. Every single morning, she drank her chocolate milk aka "cocoa." She will be remembered as a proud Delaware Nation tribal member, devoted family matriarch, and spirited opinion giver/advisor. Her last fashion advice was to wear a brightly colored scarf with a blouse and not to wear earrings bigger than your necklace. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Sturm; mother and stepfather, Flossie and Herbert Baker; husband of 52 years, Gene; granddaughter, Angie Fletcher; brother, Percy Sturm; and niece, Janet Sue Sturm. She is survived by her children, Sue Stone and husband, Kenny, of Guthrie; Janet Belcher and husband, Troy, of Oklahoma City; and Monty Payne of the home; 4 grandchildren, Morgan Lankford-Gordon and husband, Chris, of Piedmont; Trey Belcher and wife, Deana, of Mustang, Cassi Payne of Cogar, and Matthew Roy Gene Payne of Union City; and 3 great-grandchildren, Treyce, Kenadee, and Tryton Belcher; special sister-in-law, Rosa Sturm of Meeker, OK; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to express our deep gratitude to the doctors and staff at Integris Southwest Medical Center, Encompass Home Heath, and Excell Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during the last weeks of Pat's life; and also a special thanks to her friends, Jody Arnett, and Sissy Ross, for their love and attention. Thank you Mama for all that you did for us and our children and grandchildren. We will miss you. Visitation will be on Friday, from 9:00 AM-9:00 PM. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Gracemont Cemetery, in Gracemont, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
