Denson Langford November 21, 1921 - July 9, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Juanita, 91, passed away July 9, 2013. She was born 21 Nov. 1921, in Maud, OK. Juanita was the youngest of 9 children born to James Richard & Caledonia (Dona) Nixon Wallgren Denson and the great-granddaughter of John Mangum, Revolutionary War Patriot. She was a loving wife, devoted mother & grandmother who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan Langford, Sr., her 8 brothers & sisters, her 4 Wallgren half brothers & sisters. She is survived by her children, Dr. Cynthia Langford of New Orleans, Dan Harvey Langford, Jr. of OKC, and Paula Langford Haymon of Washington, DC, and 4 granddaughters, Elizabeth Langford, Jennifer Willis, Leslie Haymon, & Dana Haymon. Juanita Langford was a teacher in Oklahoma, and later, during World War II was a shipfitter in California. She and Dan married in Earlsboro, OK on 16 September 1945 after his service in the Army Air Corps. Upon her marriage, she stayed home to raise her children. Juanita Langford was an accomplished seamstress, possessing the ability to create a garment from only a photo. Juanita volunteered as a Bluebird and Campfire Girls leader and as a Cub Scout Den Mother for Boy Scouts of America. She was a lifelong advocate for education, encouraging her children and granddaughters towards ever higher educational attainment. She & Dan resided in OKC, Wewoka, Enid, and Guthrie, accompanying Dan's career as a PGA golf professional. She was a faithful member of Hillcrest Presbyterian Church. No visitation. Services to celebrate her life held 11:00 AM, Mon. July 15, 2013 at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church 6600 S. Penn, OKC. Burial follows at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
