June 18, 1962 - January 30, 2014 CHOCTAW Carol L. (Ricketts) Myers, age 51, of Choctaw, OK, passed into the arms of Jesus, her Savior, on January 30, 2014 while at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Carol was born on June 18, 1962 in Anchorage, AK, to Sidney and Charlotte Ricketts of Choctaw, OK. Carol graduated from Choctaw High School in 1980 and lived and worked in the area most of her life. Her previous employers include Sears, Del State Bank, Neighbor's Coffee, and at the time of her death, was employed with Intermedix in Oklahoma City, OK, where she will be missed by her many friends and co-workers. Carol enjoyed listening to Christian music, getting together with friends for Mexican food, and loved spending time with friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews. She also loved going on motorcycle rides and Harley events with her big brother and her niece. She loved being a companion and caregiver to her parents. She was a loving, thoughtful and generous person, always putting others needs before her own. She lived her life with grace and unwavering faith in God. Carol was a beloved and faithful member of Bethel Church in Choctaw, OK, and spent many years as a member of Eastpointe Church, in Oklahoma City, OK. She will be missed by her many brothers and sisters in Christ. Carol is survived by her parents, Sidney and Charlotte Ricketts of Choctaw, OK; her brother, David E. Ricketts, his wife, Ascension and their children, Kirstin and Austin Ricketts of Choctaw, OK; her brother, Kenneth L. Ricketts, his wife Debbie and their children, Jonathan, Morgan, and Meghan Ricketts of Choctaw, OK; and her brother, Roger A. Ricketts of Moore, OK. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Bethel Church, 3254 N. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund in memory of Carol L. Myers. Donations can be made online at www.ocrf.org
