Sept. 5, 1925 - March 3, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Dr. Gene Lipp Hall departed this life on March 3, 2014 at the age of 88. Gene was born September 5, 1925 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Ida Mae (Stumbo) and Chauncey J. Hall. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He attended the University of Oklahoma and then graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He practiced Optometry in Oklahoma City, OK for over 60 years and was a member of the American Optometric Association. He married Marianna Galle on September 25, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas. Gene is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his brother Chauncey Gus Hall and three nieces Linda (Hall) Heller (Victor), Rebecca (Hall) Bair (Bob) and Deborah (Hall) Branning (Kimes), four great nephews and seven great great nieces and nephews. Gene was a member of the Oklahoma City Bicycle Society and was an avid rider and traveler. Gene will be cremated with no services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's Research, or the .
